A Calgary man accused of attempted murder in Rocky View County is set to return to Airdrie court with a new lawyer on April 25.
Tuning into Airdrie court via CCTV on April 18, Murtaza Mohammad told the judge he was seeking new council after a breakdown in the relationship with his previous lawyer.
The 33-year-old Mohammad allegedly attempted to murder another man with a vehicle on Dec. 21, 2023 in Rocky View County.
He was charged with aggravated assault due to wounding or endangering the life of the victim.
He then allegedly stole the vehicle of the man he assaulted, threatened him, and caused an accident resulting in bodily harm.
Resulting from the same incident, Mohammad was charged with operating a vehicle in a way that posed a danger to the public and caused bodily harm, as well as operating a vehicle when being prohibited to do so.
He was scheduled to enter election and plea on Thursday, which has now been moved to April 25 in Airdrie.
