RVS Advancing Goals of Education Plan

Rocky View Schools’ (RVS) year one education plan has been well-received by administrators and instructors, but the data is difficult to find trends in due to this year being year one of a four-year plan.

Early data shows improvements in numeracy and literacy skills, and results of the ‘OurSCHOOL’ survey extended to grade four to 12 students, families, and teachers will reveal more data soon according to RVS administration.

The development of a writing assessment for grades three, four, eight, nine, and 11 will be ready for next school year as well.

2024/2025 Budget Development Update

The RVS board of trustees has established budget priorities providing direct support to student learning, staff wellness, upgrading facilities, and support for student wellness.

RVS will be approaching the board to propose that 92 per cent of instructional funding is directly allocated to schools, a sum of $500,000 will be left unspent to meet reserve targets, and individual budgets developed by education centre departments will be submitted to the board.

The draft 2024/2025 budget is up for approval on May 30.
